Think back to your school days.
Why did you study hard?
To get good grades, which would lead to a good job, which would, in turn, lead to earning money.
The same applies to sports, music, or any other activity. Even if your initial goal was passion or personal growth, money somehow sneaks into the equation.
Yet, while we work tirelessly to earn a paycheck, many of us leave the process of making money in the hands of someone else—employers, clients, or even chance.
We don’t focus on actively creating opportunities to earn in ways that align with our passions and skills.
That’s the core of the irony.
If money is such a powerful motivator, why not take charge of how we earn it?
Creating Value, Not Just Earning a Paycheck
Here’s the key: instead of relying on external factors, we need to shift our mindset to value creation.
When you solve problems, offer useful products, or provide services that people truly need, they will willingly pay you for it.
This is the foundation of building wealth on your own terms.
Look at farmers, for example.
They grow food, something we all need to survive, and people pay for it.
Similarly, when businesses offer solutions to everyday problems, they create value, and people willingly exchange money for it.
Whether it’s health, wealth, love, or happiness, we all spend money on things that fulfill our core human desires.
- Health: From gym memberships to hospital bills, people are willing to spend any amount of money to protect their health.
- Wealth: Think about how much we invest in stocks, gold, land, or education—anything that promises future financial security.
- Love: We spend lavishly on our loved ones, whether it’s on gifts, travel, or creating experiences that strengthen relationships.
- Happiness: Once we have health, wealth, and love, happiness follows. It’s something we all chase, often spending money on hobbies, travel, or other fulfilling experiences.
If money flows where our needs are, why not position yourself as the person providing what people need?
How I Took Control: My Journey
Let me share a bit of my own experience.
I used to think earning money was about working harder, climbing the corporate ladder, and hoping for a raise.
But when I started focusing on building my own brand, I realized that creating value directly for others was a much more fulfilling—and profitable—way to earn.
